INTRODUCTION

If you have ever been awakened by the melodious sounds of birds early in the morning or very late at night, when all is still, you will be able to relate to what I am saying. The amazing sounds emanating from these magnificent creatures are as diverse as the sands of the seas.

How many times have we been aggravated or outright angry, listening to their harmonious and oftentimes unusual songs? How often have we been offended at what God has given, to these, His creatures? We hear, but we do not really hear, inexplicably and perhaps subconsciously acknowledging the beauty of it all, yet at the same time reviling. How could something so magnificent evoke such feelings of ambivalence?

It is no different with people. Since the Lord saw fit to pour out His blessings on Catherine with the miraculous overnight gift of poetry, many continue to be blessed.

Her zeal and obedience in sharing what the good Master has bestowed upon her has aroused the ire and fascination of most religious folks. In addition to this anointing, Catherine was obviously born with the endowment of mellifluous speech. Many a person has coveted her gift and talent, envying and despising her because of them.

Triumphing over the persecution and opposition, this, her first published work is the proof of God's faithfulness and omnipotence! There is something in her poetry for everyone, the believer and the unbeliever, the churched and the unchurched, the religious and the non-religious, the victorious and the defeated, the despondent and the contented. What God has given to Catherine, she is giving to you. Hear what she has to say, and when appropriate put the words into action.

The Scriptures tell us, " Also, thou son of man, the children of thy people still are talking against thee by the walls and in the doors of the houses, and speak one to another, every one to his brother, saying, Come, I pray you, and hear what is the word that cometh forth from the LORD.

And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they show much love, but their heart goeth after their covetousness.

And, lo, thou art unto them as a very lovely song of one that hath a pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument: for they hear thy words, but they do them not.

And when this cometh to pass, (lo, it will come,) then shall they know that a prophet hath been among them." Ezekiel 33:30-33

Hence the title, "...As A Lovely Song..."
